I'm Skip Wiley and I started Harry & Hio's when I retired from 40 years of teaching chemistry. I love to use unique and special woods and turn them into beautiful and functional products. Whether I'm creating turned pencils, bowls, feeders or ornaments or hand-crafting and tuning musical instruments, everything I create is made with love and care. I've been creating things out of wood for over 40 years and come from generations of woodworkers. Hear more about my story here.
2016 Craft Fair schedule is now posted!
The story behind Harry & Hio's
Harry & Hio’s Woodworking was named in honor of Skip’s grandfather (Harry) and his father (Hio). Harry was the owner of Wiley Manufacturing, a woodworking shop in Gardner, Mass that made baby furniture for Thayer Inc. until the late 1950’s. Skip’s dad and uncle Kenny both worked in the shop until they enlisted for military duty during WWII, and Skip spent many hours there as a young boy.
Drop some coins in a jar, help a cat.
In memory of my best friend Buster, I am asking customers at all my craft shows to drop a coin into a mason jar. I will match each and every dollar collected and donate it in his name to a local organization dedicated to helping lost or feral cats live long, happy, healthy lives.
